The Stables

A family cottage equally suited to elderly or disabled guests.
Wheelchair-friendly, wider doorways and no steps. Sleeps 3/5.

National Accessible Scheme - LEVEL 2
This comfortable single storey cottage, designed with the wheelchair user in mind, is also ideal for families. There are two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with single bed and a galleried hayloft bedroom which is accessed by ladder. In the hayloft is a single bed and a fold out chair bed but because of the access, this hayloft is really only suitable for older children. We can provide a fold out bed or cot on the ground floor beside the single bed if necessary.

stab bathroom

There is a large 'wet-room' style shower in the bathroom with extra handles next to the toilet, basin and in the shower for your safety. A static or wheeled shower chair/commode can also be provided if required.Stables toilet

In the lounge there is a dining table and chairs, a rocking chair and two comfortable 2-seater sofas. French doors lead out to your own private south facing terrace with farmland views and your own access to the gardens... a perfect spot for relaxing or enjoying a barbecue.

Stables lounge

This cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, a well equipped kitchen, good quality television with freeview, books and table games, video/ dvd, ipod dock, central heating, wifi and xBox with games that can also be borrowed from the Pool Room cupboard. Fold out beds, cots and high chairs can be provided if needed.

stab kitchen

We have ensured that our guests in wheelchairs are able to visit the farm and the games room as well as enjoy the wonderful views from the large terrace in front of the Corn Barn. There is also a decked level pathway through the gardens where you can enjoy views of some of our animals and the natural flora and fauna.

wheelchair accessable holiday accommodation

If The Stables is already booked you might try Orchard Cottage which is also ideal for wheelchairs although it does not have a wet-room style shower - Orchard Cottage has a normal bath with a shower attachment. It does have the advantage of a large conservatory and its own enclosed garden, perfect for keeping small children and dogs safe.
